Tucana is a value-added distributor of Test- and Measurement-solutions and related applications/services for telecom- and IT-networks. The T&M solutions are used for quality & performance testing, advanced protocol diagnostics, security, network management and monitoring in converged communications networks. Our primary focus are the fixed and mobile operators, broadcasting companies, OEM’s and Enterprises.
Company Background
Tucana was established in 2000, as a management buy-out of the telecom divisions of Tekelec Europe in France (1958), the Benelux (1968) (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg). One year later the German speaking countries including Germany, Austria and Switzerland joined the Tucana group.
Where Tekelec Europe was a broad-line distributor with a side activity in telecom test equipment, the MBO allowed for a total focus of the new company to the test & measurement activities and related services. This young and enthusiastic company brought in over 40 years of experience.
The company name was changed into Tucana to distinguish itself from the predecessor. Today Tucana expands further into the IT market based on the extensive experience built out during the many years in the extremely demanding telecom market.
Focus on Service & Support
Tucana offers indispensable support to their customers during the complete lifecycle of the deployed solutions. This starts as aid in the development phase of new products and services and during installation and operations of the network.
The support team has specialized in many protocols and understands QOS and Security Issues for mobile, fixed and IT networks like: LTE, UMTS, GPRS, SS7, GSM, V5, ISDN, VoIP, xDSL, WiFi, Wimax, IP… and other related protocols.
The support engineers and consultants have a vast average of 10 year’s experience in the data- and telecom environment. The enhanced service program comprises consultancy, software development, all-in maintenance contracts, installations, trouble shooting, hands-on training sessions and helpdesk.
Legal Structure of Tucana
The company is headquartered in Antwerp (Belgium) and has sales offices in Breda (centrally located) for the Benelux, Le Vésinet (near Paris) for France and Munich (South of Germany) for the German speaking countries.
Tucana is a privately owned company and has no external funding or external shareholders, thus is financially independent.
Logistics
All sales are shipped and invoiced from the Dutch office. Certain articles/products are kept in stock and arrive at the customer’s sites by next day delivery.
